The
beasts (pictured below) gives you an idea of just how a persons characteristics
can be portrayed and exaggerated with a little imagination - Some peoples
facial expressions just lend themselves to be Gargoyle-ised! |
|
|
The
process involves first modelling the persons facial features in plasticine -
For the Gargoyle (a few horns, wrinkles, fangs and warts are added to enhance
the beast - ha ha) then, over a few days it is coated with several layers of
latex from which then a mould is formed. A glassfibre bed is then made to
support the removed mould into which a frost resistant cement mixture is then
poured. The mixture is then allowed to set, after which the finished gargoyle
or Gnome is removed from its latex skin and allowed to dry for several days. -
Reading glasses crafted from brass wire can be added if required. |

The
average height for a finished Custom Gargoyle is 8" (20cms) - each piece
is supplied with a metal hook mounted on the back, allowing it to hang on a
wall (see photo below). |
